Bible verses to consider when you think of the seeker sensitive movement

March 24, 2008

Eccl 8:10 Then I saw the wicked buried, who had come and gone from the place of holiness, and they were forgotten[a] in the city where they had so done. This also is vanity.”

I know this verse refers to death but consider how many of the unsaved have come into many of our churches and left because all they found was the world they are trying to escape from and shallow Christianity.

And our assemblies were meant for saved believers not the unsaved-check the scriptures to see if what I am saying is true or not.

1 John 2 15-18

15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.”

But consider this many churches through teachers like Rick Warren are bringing the world and all its lust right into the church to appeal to unbelievers. And yes it will for a time fill churches. (Hey how many people does Joel Osteen pack in on a Sunday? Even more than Warren does)

But llok at the turnover here that happens when the world gets bored (not saved) and goes looking for the next fad.

1 John 2:19 ( I believe this speaks to Saddleback, Hybels and many churches out there)

19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.”

Its seperation of the sheep and goats time folks.

For further study do a study on the 7 churches mentioned in the book of Revelation.

It was the big churches that got the rebuke the small ones got the praise.

Check it out for yourselves.

So you small churches and home meeting churches take hope and stay strong in the word.

Peace
